Early Music Festival Miercurea Ciuc

Early Music Festival 2013

The Early Music Festival Csíkszereda is a unique event among the summer events of the town and its neighbourhood. For one week visitors to our town can enjoy the music of the Middle Ages and of the Renaisance an Baroque periods.

The idea of starting such a festival emerged in 1979, at a concert comemorating the work of the Franciscan monk, musician and printer Joannes Kájoni.

In 2013, the programme of the festival includes musicians of international fame, new musical themes and rare musical instruments. In the masterclasses of the Early Music Summer University (7-12 July) amateur and professional musicians can learn from world famous teachers and musicians.

The youngster are welcome for a Renaissance children's day.
