The Miko-castle is the most significant historic monument. It was built in the old administratve centre of the city. It can be approached from several. Today it is the scene of the annual Early Music Festival.

Built between 1990 and 2000 it has 600 places. It has been one of the main locations of the Early Music Festival for many years
The town is 6 kms north of Gheorgheni, on the southern slope of the Szármány Mountain. It was established in the 12th-13th century. The life of the town was intertwined with the history of the Lázár family. One of the attractions of the town is the Lázár Castle, the construction of which started at the end of the 15th century. The castle was important for relations between Transylvania, Moldavia and the Regat region. This is where GáborBethlen, the later Prince of Transylvania was brought up.
